Universal Ingredients Ltd (UIL) was established in 1986 by Dave Hartley and Stan Brett, utilising their 30 years experience in the food ingredient manufacturing industry.

UIL is primarily a company involved in blending materials to customer requirements. UIL has successfully diversified into new industry sectors to meet market demand. The micronutrient blends part of the business has grown significantly since the late 1990's particularly in energy drinks and other fortified drink products. The vitamin and mineral blends are of relevance to a wide range of manufacturers including bakery and dairy.

With five dedicated units, UIL are committed to the key issues of raw material traceability, quality of finished product & flexibility of supply to meet the customer requirements.

UIL achieved ISO9001:2000 accreditation in April 2003 & utilise HACCP principles in manufacturing. As part of continuous improvement, UIL has also gained BRC accreditation.
